No props, staging, poses, or fake smiles. Just you and your family exactly how you are.
Documentary photography and film are about showing the connection you share as a family. A typical session will start in your home at the heart of your family life and I'll help you plan your shoot around what matters most to you. It can be a super chill day or one full of excitement. Either way, I promise there is so much beauty in what you do with your kids every day and my packages are tailored to suit the family story you want to tell.

How it works...
01.
Before the Session
Once we've found a date that works and have you booked in, your experience starts with a virtual or in-person consultation to help me get to know you and your family so that you're comfortable with me on the day of your session. It will be easier for you to be yourselves and I'll be able to capture a more authentic story. During the consultation, we’ll discuss your goals for the session, everyone’s personality, and what’s important for you at this stage in your life. We’ll make an activity plan, set expectations, and discuss all the details so everyone is on the same page.
02.
During the Session
Your session should be as relaxed and enjoyable as any other day with your family. Think of me as a friend coming over who just happens to bring her camera. You can focus on what you love doing the most with your family - have fun, play, go on an adventure, and, most importantly, be yourself. You don't need to worry about the mess in your house, the weather, the clothes you wear, or your kids’ behaviour. We want your story to be as authentic as possible where everyone's personality shines.
03.
After the Session
Photography
A few weeks following your session, I'll send an online gallery of the best print-ready images from your shoot in both colour and black & white that you can share with friends and family. You'll also see a selection of prints and beautiful hand-made photo albums ready to order.
FILM
In approximately 4 to 6 weeks following your session, I'll send your final family film in an online gallery ready to download. You'll also see a selection of video albums ready to order.
What should we wear?
Wear something that makes you feel comfortable. This doesn't necessarily mean a T-shirt and leggings but something where you can all be yourself and easily move around. I also suggest going barefoot indoors during the spring and summer months.
Does my home have to look tidy?
This is all about you and your life. Beautifully clean and tidy homes are certainly dreamy, but they don't exist for most of us. Especially if you have kids. So be as neat or messy as you like. It's up to you. Quick tip - I often shoot in the rooms that you use the most. So if you want to keep only a portion of your home tidy for the session, clean the kitchen, living room, master bedroom and/or one of your kids' rooms. But again, it's not necessary. You do you.
What if I don't want the session to take place at my home?
I'm more than happy to photograph or film your family at any location of your choice. I also have a list of lovely location ideas around the GTA that are available upon request.
What are some examples of activities we can do together?
My best tip here is to think of activities that you do every day. To give you an example, kids love helping out with household chores. So maybe one of your activities is simply doing laundry or washing the dishes. I'm down for a super chill day or one that's full of excitement. Whatever you choose to do, remember that it's not about the activity but about the connection you share with your family.
If you're looking for a list of activity ideas, visit my contact page to get in touch and I'll be happy to send it to you.
What if my child has a tantrum?
Fact: children have meltdowns and that's okay. I don't want you to worry about a tantrum during your session. I love keeping it real but if you prefer that I don't capture those moments, take as much time as you need to decompress. I will only shoot the parts of your day you want to remember.
Do I have to order prints and albums through you?
While I offer prints, albums, and greeting cards to purchase, you are in no way obligated to order from me. Your images are yours to print with who you choose. That being said, I can guarantee the best quality products through my providers.
Let's discuss all the details over tea or coffee

I'd love to get to know you
